CEC prayer-walks for change healing

Bobonong branch of the Christian Empowerment Church (CEC) intends to prayer-walk on June 1 to address issues affecting Bobirwa and Botswana in general.
The issues the CEC intends to pray against include but are not limited to suicide, drugs and substance abuse passion killings, domestic violence and rape.
Prayer-walking entails calling or crying out to God while walking unlike the usual prayer where believers are stationed in one place, leader of CEC Bobonong branch, Apostle Moses Kemofilwe explained.
Apostle Moses said seeing the spike in the aforementioned social ills and challenges, God spoke to him to conduct a prayer-walk to help heal Bobonong and the nation.
The two-kilometre walk, from the church to the Bobonong kgotla through the central business district, would culminate in the church and some resource persons from various departments addressing chiefly the youth on the matters in question.
“We offer spiritual support as a church. Our church is also a place for psychological support,” said Apostle Moses who added that the CEC advocated for the people to be empowered through information while the church is available spiritually.
Although the church cannot heal the community through a single event of prayer-walking, Apostle Moses said the event was a launch pad to many other social engagements, which the church is known for.
“We have started a process and we’re a church known for actively participating in and engaging socially as part of our contribution to the community,” said the apostle.
CEC national pastor, Apostle Nathaniel Matebesi will lead the walk and also speak at the event. ENDS
