Government to assist LIMID approved beneficiaries
22 May 2024
Following the recent introduction of the transformative Thuo Letlotlo livestock sector support programme, it has been confirmed that beneficiaries already approved under the old Livestock Management and Infrastructure Development (LIMID) Programme will continue to receive assistance.
This assurance was made by Ms Tshepiso Kasake, the Department of Agriculture’s Senior Scientific Officer for Tsabong District during the district council meeting on Tuesday.
She emphasised that both the previous LIMID programme and the new Thuo Letlotlo programme shared the common goal of enhancing livestock management and would operate simultaneously until all remaining approved LIMID beneficiaries had been serviced to address any pending issues.
Ms Kasake stated that individuals who had received approval letters prior to the introduction of the new programme would be supported according to their existing approvals.
However, those whose applications were pending under LIMID are required to reapply for assistance under the new Thuo Letlotlo programme.
“The new programme aims to foster a sustainable, inclusive, and diversified livestock sector,” Ms Kasake added. ENDS
