Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane supporting bereaved families is part of the Setswana tradition.

Speaking at the funeral of Kgosi Dadibo Kabasi in Xhumo on Saturday, Vice President Tsogwane passed President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s condolences to the family and urged them to trust in the Lord.

Kgosi Kabasi, who was headman of Xhumo, died on May 11. 

Mr Tsogwane stated that the leadership of the country under the stewardship of President Masisi upheld the Setswana tradition of supporting families during difficult times of bereavement.

Vice President Tsogwane also commended Xhumo residents for honouring their chiefs by secluding a burial place for them at the village cemetery.

For his part, Kgosi Seikgotheng Ntshumbiwa of Xhumo described Kgosi Kabasi as a hard working leader, dedicated to his job and willing to learn.

He said his death was a shock because although he was not well, he reported for duty and was only bedridden for a short time.

Representing Kgosi Serogola Seretse, Kgosi Ditshego Ramakhubu commended Xhumo residents for the respect and honour they accorded their traditional leaders.

A family representative, Mr Mototegi Bojosi described Kgosi Kabasi as kind-hearted and a hardworking farmer who supported his family through agriculture. ENDS
