BOTSWANA PRISON SERVICE DONATES HOUSE IN MMANKGODI
18 May 2024
Botswana Prison Service (BPS) with help from Liberty Life Botswana has donated a two-bedroomed house worth about P203 000 to 42-year-old Ms Mpho Motau of Mmankgodi.
The abode came with groceries and furniture.
Minister of Defence and Security, also Gabane/Mmankgodi MP, Mr Kagiso Mmusi graced the occasion to hand over the house to Ms Motau on Friday.
Botswana Prison Service commissioner, Mr Anthony Mokento explained that Ms Motau was selected because she only had land but no resources to build a house yet needed a place to stay with her children.
He said BPS officers across the country contributed money with help from Liberty Life, to build a house for Ms Motau and her family, something they had done before for other deserving citizens.
When interviewed, Ms Motau, a single mother of five children who lost their father, promised to take care of the house. Ends
