President Masisi encourages Kereng to advance Botswanas interests

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has encouraged High Commissioner designate to Nigeria, Ms Philda Kereng to advance Botswana’s interests during her stay in Nigeria.
President Masisi, who was speaking during a courtesy call by Ms Kereng on May 16 prior to her departure to assume her new role in Nigeria, urged the high commissioner designate to establish new opportunities and improve bilateral relations of the two nations
He also wished President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration prosperity and to continue working with Botswana, to advance the interests of the citizens of the two nations.
He said Botswana and Nigeria had long standing relations, noting that the latter was home to a lot of creative ingenuity which Ms Kereng must be on the look out for to enhance Botswana’s interests.
Meanwhile, Ms Kereng said she had completed her induction and pre-departure consultation and was scheduled to depart on May 19 to resume her assignment.
She said she was thankful for the opportunity and was eager to break new ground, create opportunities for Botswana and its people.
Ms Kereng, who is former Minister of Environment and Tourism, was assigned foreign envoy January 30. Ends
