Masisi commiserate with Rakhudu family

25 Apr 2024

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi yesterday visited the Rakhudu family in Serowe to convey message of condolences.

This followed the passing on of Mr Nathaniel Rakhudu a week ago after a short illness. He will be laid to rest on Sunday.

The deceased was a younger brother to former Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister, Mr Keletso Rakhudu.

In his message of condolences, President Masisi said in such difficult times, it was befitting for him to pass by the grieving family to greet them, a gesture, he said, was a Setswana tradition that had been in practice for time immemorial.

The President encouraged the Rakhudu family to unite and find comfort in one another during the trying time.

Expressing appreciation for the President’s sympathy, Mr Keletso, said condolences came in different forms such as visiting, which he said was soothing, especially when done by the country leadership.

On behalf of the family, the deceased uncle, Mr Obonye Ramoroka thanked the President for the gesture, adding that the visit would soothe the broken hearts.

The President was accompanied by Vice President Slumber Tsogwane, Specially Elected Member of Parliament Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, Bangwato regent, Kgosi Serogola Seretse and senior government officials. Ends
