Programmes offered at Maun based, Drongo School of Leadership have come in handy for many who have trained at the facility.

Established in 2022, the institution offers leadership skills and character building courses targeting different ages and employees’ needs, as well as initiatives that benefit communities.

It also equips those who failed to go beyond secondary school level with leadership and life skills that enhance their employability.

One of the facilitators, Mr Laone Chombo told BOPA that their programmes enabled one to know their strengths and weaknesses, built confidence, enhance resilience and inspired young people to become agents of change in their communities and beyond.

Mr Chombo said each year, there were learners who failed to further their studies because of unsatisfactory performance and those who were idle and engaged in activities that did not add any value to their lives whom the school wished to develop.

Drongo School of Leadership through its programme, Tsholetsang Banana, in partnership with Botoka Foundation started a series of five day workshops through which it seeks to advance learners, Mr Chombo said and explained that training was free and designed to inspire trainees lead successful lives.

He said more than 200 had graduated from the institution, some of whom were fortunate enough to go for further training.

A graduate, Mr Thuto Keamogetswe stated that the programme had improved his confidence and helped him build meaning relationships.

“Best of all, I am now headed for hospitality training with Kwando Safaris,” Mr Keamogetswe said in a joyous mood.

Another graduate, Ms Reatile Greig shared that before enrolling in the programme, she felt hopeless but that had changed and was now feeling positive. ENDS
