The search for missing Motlhabaneng Primary School teacher Ms Gomolemo Seroba who disappeared in January is continuing, Semolale Police Station commander Superintendent Edward Leposo says.
In an interview with BOPA recently, Superintendent Leposo said that the search for the 33-year-old teacher would continue until she was found.
“We the police, in conjunction with the community are still searching day and night for the missing teacher. We are not about to give up, but would rather augment and intensify our efforts. We are trying anything and everything possible to find her. This past weekend we held church prayers for her safe return while also continually searching at all possible places,” he said.
Ms Seroba apparently went to bed with her seven-year-old daughter who woke up on January 7 to the absence of her mother in the house. The daughter reported her mother missing to the neighbouring adults as she prepared to go to school. It is reported that she left belongings such as her purse, phones and cards.
During a kgotla meeting recently, Kgosi Bethuel Machete appealed to residents to join efforts to find Ms Seroba.
“We have been everywhere to try and find her, but to no avail,” he said, and added that they had since requested Semolale police to consider bringing back the helicopters to comb the area again with the hope of a positive outcome this time around.
While employing all the means necessary to find the missing teacher, Kgosi Machete expressed concerns over missing persons calling it a nationwide outcry.
“It has become worryingly common for people to disappear and never be found. If found, they’re either decomposed or unidentifiable or worse, with some missing organs,” said the Motlhabaneng tribal leader, wondering where the trend was leading.
The village leader appealed to all to provide the police with any information necessary to help find the missing teacher. ENDS
