A donation of two-classroom block to Retlhatloleng Primary School will go a long way in promoting effective educational outcomes and improve academic performance the nation and stakeholders aspires, says Orapa Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines general manager Mr Mogakolodi Maoketsa.
Speaking at the handover event in Letlhakane on Friday, Mr Maoketsa hailed Dream Choice for handing over a P1.6 million block of two classrooms.
Mr Maoketsa said it was pleasing to see their business partner investing in projects of such magnitude like construction of classrooms. He said while classrooms shortage remained a challenge, intervention by Dream Choice was commendable.
He said the move was part of Debswana’s aim to improve academic performance in primary and secondary schools.
Mr Maoketsa said they aimed to support better pass rate and academic progression by enabling better numeracy, literacy and science knowledge.
Managing Director of Dream Choice Mr Ricky Reikeletseng said they were committed to partake in lives of ‘future leaders’ by actively promoting structures, policies and enhancing programmes that helped children to succeed.
He said a classroom block was chosen because education administered through the building would benefit many generations to come. He said Retlhatloleng Primary School was identified as beneficiary as more than 10 classes conducted learning in the open on corridors or under trees.
The project he said started in November 2023 and was a profound commitment to the future of the children, the development of the community and the nation at large.
School head, Mr Judah Nkarabang thanked Dream Choice for investing in education. He expressed hope that the classrooms will reduce double shift for upper classes noting that Standard Five was the foundation for Standard Seven. He said the classrooms had now increased from 22 to 24. ENDS
