'Hold fast hope'

30 Mar 2025

Vice President, Mr Ndaba Gaolathe has urged Evangelical Lutheran Church in Botswana (ELCB) congregants to remain steadfast in faith and hope as the church is the only place, which offers such without fear of reprisals.

Mr Gaolathe was speaking Sunday at the 9th home coming church service of ELCB themed: Faith and Hope, A Source of Resilience During Economic and Moral Uncertainties.

“Live in harmony with God who is not discriminatory. He will not forsake you because he is a living God who will respond to every situation, all you need is have faith and hope,” he said.

He said God had changed Batswana’s story of hope by ushering in a new administration.

The Vice President urged congregants to keep the political leadership in their prayers because they understood their concerns.

“We are going through a difficult chapter in our lives due to rising numbers of social ills, unemployment and thus we need men and women with faith and hope. And that faith and hope should come from God,” he said.

He assured congregants that those who were charged with leadership were men and women of good repute who carried so much hope for the nation.

“We are serving a living God that is why we remain hopeful against all odds. We must not lose hope. We want to build the Botswana that we all yearn for,” he added.

VP Gaolathe expressed hope in the scripture and conducted a mini sermon to buttress his point.

Gamalete MP, Mr Boniface Mabeo said the change of political leadership was God's grace and calling.

He said Batswana were blessed to be led by leaders of Mr Gaolathe's caliber, whom he described as God fearing and a man of good will. Ends
