Coach names squad for qualifiers

The Zebras head coach, Morena Ramoreboli has released names of 26 players for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier games against Algeria and Somalia.
The Zebras will face Algeria on March 21 and Somalia on March 25.
Both games will be played at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown.
After the announcement, Ramoremoli in an interview expressed confident in the formidable squad selected.
“Not many changes were made with the team that has been playing because as the saying goes, why fix what is not broken,” Ramoreboli said.
He however, said even though the team’s performance had been pleasing, there was still room for improvement and part of that was to identify players who could add value since the aim was to have a balanced team.
“All in all, we have brought in players that can bring glory, good performance and players that can be consistent,” he said.
The squad includes:
Goalkeepers: Lesenya Malapela (Orapa United), Goitseone Phoko (Jwaneng Galaxy), and Kabelo Maphakela (Township rollers).
Midfielders: Gape Mohutsiwa (Aso Chlef), Godiraone Modingwane (BDF X1), Lebogang Ditsile (Gaborone United), Koketso Majafi (Orapa United), Theo Shadikong (Tafic), Gilbert Baruti, Gift Moyo (Jwaneng Galaxy), Reneilwe Batlokwa (Maldon and Tiptree)
Defenders: Thatayaone Ditlhokwe (Al-Ittihad), Mosha Gaolaolwe (Township Rollers), Benson Mangolo (Mochudi Centre Chiefs), Thabo Leinenyane, Tebogo Kopelang (Jwaneng Galaxy), Mothusi Johnson, Alford Velaphi (Gaborone United),Kemoneetswe Mmangwedi (Tafic).
