Allocation of plots in Pallaroad and Dovedale will be carried out during the 2025/2026 financial year, Acting Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Dr Edwin Dikoloti has said.
He told Parliament on Wednesday that the last plot allocations at Pallaroad and Dovedale villages were in 2014 and 2009 respectively.
He said Dovedale had 227 plots consisting of 197 residential and 30 non-residential plots adding that the plots were at the final stages of being prepared for allocation and their general plan was approved, and awaiting loading into the land information system.
“The intention of the land board is to allocate them through the system so that secure land title can be issued immediately, and the plan is to allocate the 197 residential plots by the end of May 2025,” he said.  For Pallaroad, Dr Dikoloti said there was an approved layout, which was partly surveyed and allocated in 2014. He said the remaining, covering an area of 74.4 hectares would be allocated in July 2025 and was expected to yield approximately 489 residential plots.
He said Mmamabula development plan (2009-2033) which covered Pallaroad, Mmaphashalala, Dibete and Dovedale had identified a future expansion area of about 334 hectares. For Pallaroad he said it was expected to yield about 2 300 plots. MP for Shoshong, Mr Moneedi Bagaisamang had asked the minister to state when plots in Pallaroad and Dovedale were last allocated. ENDS
