Court remands quartet in custody

Nata Principal Magistrate, Mr Bakang Gabaitsiwe has on Wednesday remanded in custody a quartet accused of being in possession of a suspected stolen property.
Their attorney Mr Morris Ndawana had requested the court to suspend bail application ruling, which was supposed to be given on Wednesday.
The accused persons; Tumisang Otsetswe (36), Tanzania national, Richard Bukwimba (46), a South African national, Percia Masemola (24) as well as Botswana Police Service officer Masego Mosimane (39) are charged with being found in possession of suspected stolen property, a Toyota Fortuner vehicle, on or about March 3 at Ngwasha veterinary gate.
Appearing before Nata court on behalf of the accused persons who were not present in court, Mr Ndawana asked the court to suspend the ruling of their previous application as he wanted to make further supplements.
Meanwhile Investigating Officer, Inspector Thulaganyo Pitso, explained to the court that the accused persons were not present as they failed to find secured transport to bring them from Francistown where they were detained.
Nevertheless, he asked the court to have the matter moved to March 17, which was granted by the magistrate. ENDS
