CA Sales donates P300 000 to flood victims
10 Mar 2025
CA Sales has recently spent the last P100 000 from the P300 000 offer that the company had promised to distribute charitably to the victims of the recent floods.
Kgatleng District Commissioner (DC), Ms Kolobetso Sejakgomo gave a bow of honour to all donors who have been there during the trying moments.
“We are so thankful as we continue to receive all these donations. Ever since day one, we have been running helter-skelter trying to rescue our people from the floods,” she said.
Ms Sejakgomo said it had not been easy and ever since they started, they had a tough time with shortage of resources.
“We appreciate that we have been assisted by the Botswana Defence Force, Botswana Police Service and the National Disaster Management Committee,” she noted.
Ms Sejakgomo said they realised that there were people who needed to be rescued to the evacuation centres and ended up hosting them at various centres such as schools that were set aside to ensure people were safe.
She explained that although the situation seemed to be calm as now victims were back home, they were still in need of food and an array of other items.
The DC revealed that besides people who needed food, there were institutions; government and private, who still needed a lot of help in the district.
Ms Sejakgomo expressed appreciation to CA sales and other Good Samaritans who have been offering support.
“We have received plenty of donations from an array of companies and individuals across the country and we really appreciate that. The support has been massive,” Ms Sejakgomo applauded.
Furthermore, she said it was not only Mochudi, which was affected, but noted that Oliphant’s Drift, Ramonaka, Mathubudukwane and the river villages were also affected, hence deserved their shares form these donations.
When delivering the P100 000 offer, which was converted into food hampers, the Marketing Manager for CA Sales, Ms Boago Mahatlane said they had witnessed the recent torrents that led to people being left stranded as the waters had occupied their residences and destroyed their goods, therefore, CA Sales was moved to take compassionate action.
“The Kgatleng District, as per the DC’s words, was among the mostly impacted areas by the floods. As CA Sales we are here this morning to extend a helping hand during this difficult moment in this District. We are offering groceries and toiletry, which are worth P300 000, which have been equally awarded to three districts,” he said.
Ms Mahatlane said their mission and mandate was not only focused on the good days but also even at the darkest of the days, their mission also operates.
“During good times or bad times, our people still need to be given food, they still need to be given toiletry. We are here today with grocery and toiletry worth P100 000 to be awarded to the Mochudi flood victims,” said Ms Mahatlane. ENDS
