Church crucial in molding children

The church plays a significant role in molding children to become better leaders of tomorrow.
When officially opening the fifth branch of Jesus Outreach Ministry International (JOMI) in Tati Siding yesterday, Tati East MP, Mr Thabologo Furniture said the church was assisting in rebuking and praying against social ills.
Mr Furniture highlighted the prevalence of GBV and the disruptive behaviour of school children as pressing issues that the church, as a cornerstone of society, was uniquely positioned to address.
He urged the church to help in the fight against drug and substance abuse, which was rapidly growing in the country.
He encouraged JOMI to actively recruit new members to build its congregation and broaden its influence in the community.
Pastor Oscar Dilo said JOMI started in 2000 and this year marked its 25th year of existence.
He added that for the past 25 years, the church had played a remarkable role in molding children and helping them to desist from social ills.
“The time the young generation spend in church keeps them busy so that they do not idle around the streets and end up being tempted to engage in illegal activities,” he added.
Pastor Dilo said the church also empowered the people by giving back to the community, a good gesture he said the church is determined to spread in Tati Siding.
“Already established in Tobane, Maun, Moshupa, and Borolong, JOMI’s arrival in Tatisiding shows a significant growth in the zeal to spread the gospel of God”, he said. ENDS
