President Boko to attend the launch of Botswana Satellite in America

President Advocate Duma Boko had departed to the United States, where he undertook a working visit to the United States of America on March 1st to March 9 to attend the launch of the first satellite (BOTSAT-1) owned by Botswana.
The satellite launch is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California on March 5th.
It is anticipated that BOTSAT-1 wll among others, enable the country to generate its own satellite data and provide essential information for key sectors such as mining, agriculture and urban planning.
The development of BOT-SAT1 by a group of Batswana engineers from the Botswana International University of Science and Technology, is also a testament of the potential that the country has to enhance capacity in space technology and build a robust space programme.
The visit also includes high level meetings, trade engagements and site visits to SpaceX and Starlink facilities.
