Elephants spotted around Kalamare and Shoshong areas

The Department of Wildlife and National Parks cautions the public to be vigilant and careful as female elephant and its calf were seen roaming around Kedikilwe farms near Kalamare while other elephants were spotted at Ikongwe lands.
In an interview , Chief Wildlife Warden, Ms Julia Masele, said the elephants were seen Monday midday at Kedikilwe lands. She said other elephants were found around Ikongwe.
Ms Masele also said that one of the elephants was recently killed at Bonwapitse village. She further advised the public not to use herding dogs to scare the elephants and not to make any form of noise as this would agitate them.The public were also advised to report anything suspected to be such animals to the nearest Wildlife offices and the police.
