Government has received donations from various private sector entities to assist flood victims. Receiving the donations at the Office of the President yesterday, the Assistant Minister for State President, Ms Maipelo Mophuting applauded those who responded to government’s call to join hands in providing aid to flood affected victims. 

Ms Mophuting said the donations would make it easier to assist those in need. 

“It is heartwarming to see other Batswana coming forth to assist those affected by these floods,” she said. 

For his part, Minister for State President, Mr Moeti Mohwasa, emphasised the importance of using the received aid as effectively as possible. 

Mr Mohwasa said as more rains were expected, it was important to disperse what was stored within 48 hours to the affected people. He said his office would be coordinating district level authorities to help residents in the affected areas outside Gaborone. 

Companies that made donations on the day include Arona Natural Foods, Botswana Telecommunication Corporation, Flotek, Motovac, Ka Pula Drones, Desert Sands Motel, Senn Foods and Agente de Restuaracion  Rehabilitacion. ENDS
