The Business Disaster Management Fund is designed to mobilise resources for relief efforts in response to the ongoing torrential rains across the country.

Announcing the establishment of the fund in a meeting with the Minister for State President, Mr Moeti Mohwasa, Business Botswana president, Mr Neo Nwako urged businesses to support the nation and assured that details on how to contribute would be shared.

“On behalf of the business community, we recognise the impact of these events and the fund will be independently governed by a board with its own dedicated account," Mr Nwako said.

For her part, Assistant Minister for State President, Ms Maipelo Mophuting reaffirmed government’s commitment to working alongside the business community in addressing the national crisis.

“I would also like to thank the security clusters, BDF, BPS, and Batswana as a whole for their assistance during this trying time,” she said. ends
