Kweneng to advertise non-residential plots
19 Feb 2025
Kweneng Land Board will advertise all available non-residential plots, including those reserved for use by religious organisations by the end of the first quarter of the financial year 2025/2026, Minister of Communications and Technology Mr David Tshere has said.
He was responding to a question in Parliament yesterday on behalf of the Minister of Lands and Agriculture.
“Based on the volume of applications that will emerge subsequent to the mandatory advertising that must take place, we intend to have allocated the subject plots by the end of this calendar year,” he said.
He said among the available non-residential plots in Mmankgodi, Lesirane, Gabane and Tloaneng villages, 17 had been designated for civic and community use.
He said Mmankgodi had 16 of these plots and seven of the 16 had been reserved for allocation to religious organisations.
Minister Tshere said Gabane had one civic and community plot available, while Lesirane and Tloaneng villages had no readily available civic and community plots.
He further said Tloaneng’s detailed layout was still at the initial stages of consultation within the district structures by Mogoditshane/Thamaga District Council.
Member of Parliament for Gabane/Mmankgodi Constituency, Mr Kagiso Mmusi asked the Minister of Lands and Agriculture when the ministry intended to allocate plots of worship to churches as they had long been promised in Mmankgodi, Lesirane, Gabane and Tloaneng. ENDS
