Over 35 government officials at the Kanye Rural Administrative Centre (RAC) purchased gym wear from  Kealeboga Pelokgosi, the owner of Ops Gym Wear this past week.

Pelokgosi, who is based in Gaborone, told BOPA in an interview that he was operating a mobile business with no physical office and his gym wear was primarily sold online but also available in select Chinese-owned shops across Botswana.

“Gym wear is designed for training and special occasions, distinct from sportswear. I sell my products in sets: jackets for P850, T-shirts for P450, and vests for P300. My target market is government officials, as they often have limited time to visit gyms and stay fit. Last year, Kanye DHMT invited me, and now RAC employees have also purchased my gym wear,”  Pelokgosi further explained.

Unlike traditional gyms, Ops Gym Wear does not offer training sessions or supplements. Instead, Pelokgosi focuses solely on providing quality gym attire designed to enhance workouts.

“Some people visit the gym daily but still struggle with belly fat. This is because the belly area is difficult to heat while training,” he noted.

He said that was why his gym wear was made from heat-trapping materials similar to black plastic waste bags.

“These outfits help the body retain heat, increasing sweating and assisting in fat-burning, particularly around the midsection,” he narrated.

He added that while gym wear had minimal side effects, users should engage in light exercise and stay hydrated to prevent skin dehydration caused by fat loss. Pelokgosi emphasised that his products catered for anyone, including those who could not afford monthly gym subscriptions.

Southern District Health Management Team principal health officer, Sylvester Pogiso endorsed Ops Gym Wear, stating that the gym wear was effective and widely used by his colleagues.

“We have a good working relationship with Pelokgosi, and his business is legitimate. Many of us purchased his products last year, and we are happy with them,” he concluded.
