Digitalisation can enhance delivery of government services, Minister of Communications and Innovation Mr David Tshere has told Etsha 6 residents.

Minister Tshere said recently that through various technology platforms, digitalisation would help people receive services wherever they were hence government promoted technology driven economy. 

He said because the ministry regulated communications and network providers it would ensure that there was network across the country. Mr Tshere said that was how government ensured availability of internet in government institutions such as schools, clinics and dikgotla. 

“Communication is a basic need which is why we have a mammoth task of expanding network for all people to be connected,” he said. 

He said the target for connectivity was not yet met since the county was still having some areas with no network coverage or poor coverage. 

Mr Tshere said far-flung areas deserved network coverage since it would help with communication to speed up service delivery for them.

The minister who graced an Information Technology laboratory donation for Etsha 6 primary school said the gift was worthwhile as it helped put learners in remote areas at par with learners in developed areas. ENDS
