MP appeals patience in expectations

28 Jan 2025

Member of Parliament for Mogoditshane West, Mr Galenawaabo Lekau last week went about the Tsolamosese West council ward addressing residents during meet and greet gatherings.

Mr Lekau made his first encounter, since last year’s general elections, with the Lesirane residents at the Lesirane kgotla and closed the day’s schedule at the Tsolamosese ward.

Amidst unfolding perspective of his visits, Mr Lekau pinpointed that he was of the notion that trustworthiness was the therapy for a mutual understanding between the government and its people.

He told residents that he had briefed his entourage to avoid sugarcoating the feedback that they confer to them to avoid disingenuous promises that usually end up diverting peoples’ trust from the government.

The MP pleaded with the residents to be patient in their expectations from the new government.

He stated that upon assuming office, the government found out that the government coffers were empty as per the financial report by the Vice President, Mr Ndaba Gaolathe.

Mr Lekau also appealed to residents to wait for the upcoming budget speech to appreciate issues concerning the funding of projects or services.

He emphasised that the P1 800 for pensioners, the P2 500 student allowances as well as the reconsidering of the Ipelegeng salaries were still in the pipeline. ENDS
