Police XI rule first division

28 Jan 2025

The silhouetted entrance to the second top league is little by little getting clear as Police XI, aka the Jungle Kings, remain etched at the apex of the First Division South League (FDSL).

Police XI keep on slightly increasing the gap game after game, as they are dedicated to make a kill in each game. Last weekend, they were confident to broaden the gap but the unpredictable UB Hawks, who are just at the edge of the relegation line, held them to a solitary goal tie.

It is still blurry to pick an outfit that could give Police XI a hard time as a number of other teams are all fit to vie for spot number two. Tlokweng United and Jwaneng Young Stars, which are on the second spot and third respectively, have 14 points each whereas Prisons XI lag just a point behind the duo.

At the bottom of the table, a binary of Kgalagadi District outfits, Desert Nxau and Sand Diamonds, are wrangling to escape the relegation zone. They each lost their weekend games as Prisons walloped Sand Diamonds with a solitary goal just like Holy Ghost did to Desert Nxau.

In other games, Taung Young Strikers succumbed to a 2-1 loss to City Polar while Tlokweng United and Jwaneng Young Stars managed to get only a point each other after a goalless encounter.

The seventh placed Magosi rose to the occasion to whip the fifth placed Notwane one nil. ENDS
