Chadibe take on in form Wanderers
24 Jan 2025
Struggling Chadibe FC will be attempting to get their first ever win in the FNB Premiership when they clash with inform Morupule Wanderers at Francistown City Council Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Currently second from the bottom of the log with seven points from 15 matches, Chadibe faces a tough challenge against Morupule Wanderers, who sit comfortably in seventh place with 22 points from 14 games.
The disparity in league standings suggests a clear advantage for Morupule, who have more experience of playing top flight football than rookies Chadibe.
Chadibe's proximity to Francistown could be a game-changer as strong showing of support from their village faithful could provide a crucial morale boost for them as underdogs.
Despite losing key players during the recent transfer window, Chadibe public relations officer (PRO), Leatile Morgan has declared his team ready to face Wanderers this weekend.
The club has seen a significant exodus of talent, including the departure of goalkeeper Phatsimo Mogweng to Security Systems and midfielder Batisani Kemoreng to Magosi FC of Ramotswa.
However, Morgan remains confident, highlighting the club’s shrewd recruitment strategy.
Chadibe has secured two good players on loan from TAFIC, being Thatayaone Thandazela and Bontsi Dichaba, and further bolstered their ranks with two additional signings from Real Brothers of Letlhakane.
The new additions indicate Chadibe’s determination to remain competitive.
Meanwhile, Wanderers refuses to underestimate Chadibe FC despite its league position.
Its PRO, Thabo Rapula said Wanderers would treat their upcoming match with the utmost seriousness.
Dismissing any notion of complacency despite Chadibe’s position near the bottom of the log, Rapula emphasised that Wanderers would respect their opponents.
“This is a game we are taking very seriously. Chadibe FC is a team capable of springing surprises and upsetting any opponent who underestimates them,” he said.
The weekend program will kick off with a clash between bottom of the log Union Flamengo Santos and Orapa United at BPSC Stadium in Gaborone at 6pm.
