Madiba Senior Secondary School students have been encouraged to work hard to achieve desired results that will unlock opportunities for them.
This was said by the Minister of Communications and Innovation Mr David Tshere during the handing over of 2 000 books to the school on Friday, courtesy of alumnus President Advocate Duma Boko.
Minister Tshere, who is also Mahalapye West legislator, said the books should also serve as an inspiration as the President was a student at Madiba during his school days.
He also said the noble gesture should challenge students to aim for high marks.
“President Advocate Duma Boko is giving you these books so that you can develop interest in a broader spectrum of career path,” Mr Tshere said.
Appreciating the donation, Principal Education Officer Ms Anti Tshireletso said shortage of resources takes centre stage at schools thus impeding quality service delivery.
She applauded the minister for making time to ensure the successful delivery of books and for motivating learners to work hard.
The deputy school head, Mr Omphemetse Maitshoko thanked the minister for his performance improvement initiative stating that his son was able to attain 48 points and a laptop.
Phatsimo Mosudisa, a student representative expressed gratitude to the noble gesture and said the motivation was enough to push them beyond boundaries with research and attaining knowledge. ENDS
