Chadibe FC draws with Extension Gunners

12 Jan 2025

Football fans witnessed a 0-0 draw between Chadibe FC and Extension Gunners in a tightly contested FNB Premiership match played at the Francistown old stadium on Saturday.
Played under mostly fair weather conditions with a brief 10-minute interruption because of the rain, the game attracted an almost equal number of passionate supporters from both sides. From the opening whistle, the match was a closely fought battle.
While the final score was a 0-0 draw, suggesting a defensive stalemate, both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the match. At times, they faced more pressure than anticipated, becoming the last line of defense for their respective teams.
Their exceptional performance was crucial in preventing either side from breaking the deadlock, ultimately resulting in a hard-fought but goalless draw.
The second half mirrored the first, with both teams pushing for a breakthrough but ultimately failing to find the back of the net despite determined efforts.
The anticipation was palpable, with spectators from both sides anxiously hoping for a goal but in the end, a goalless draw was a fair reflection of a match where neither side could gain a decisive edge.
In a post match interview, both coaches accepted the results.
Chadibe coach, Martin Mazereku said he had expected an early goal but his boys, though with a little upper hand, were unfortunate to burn the net.
However, he said his team managed to contain the little pressure from Gunners, especially towards the end of the game.
Extension Gunners coach, Proper Monnawanuka said losing the game could have worsened their position in the log.
“We were just a point ahead of them (Chadibe) and losing would mean that we drop down,” said Monnawanuka. ENDS
