Jwaneng Galaxy and Tafic game fails to inspire

12 Jan 2025

The defending champions Jwaneng Galaxy played to a goalless draw with log leaders Tafic in the FNB Premiership game played on Saturday in Jwaneng.
The encounter which many pundits predicted as one of the matches that would give football fans the value for their money failed to live up to expectations.
The main spoiler of the game was mainly due to rain which started pouring immediately after kickoff.
Ten minutes before half time the referee was forced to stop the game briefly for 15 minutes due to a water logged pitch.
The hosts had better chances to grab the lead earlier on but their marksman Omaatla Kebatho’s header was denied by the upright.
The first half went to recess with no team showing signs of wanting to score.
It was in the second half that both teams kept on counter attacking each other but with no real chances of scoring because they lacked the clinical finish in the last third.
Late in the second half Jwaneng Galaxy’s skipper began stringing some passes in the middle of the park but Tafic’s solid defence stayed put to ensure that they keep them at bay.
The game ended in a goalless draw meaning that the log remains the same at the top.
Galaxy had to settle for a point even though Tafic’s keeper Prince Mooketsi was suspect as he kept on dropping the balls and they failed to capitalise on his mistakes. ENDS
