Tafic FC Crash Union Flamingos Santos
04 Jan 2025
Francistown's Tafic FC crushed Gabane-based Union Flamengo Santos 6-0 in an FNB Premiership League game at the Francistown old stadium. From the opening whistle, Tafic, spurred on by the knowledge that a loss would see them relinquish their league-leading position to Township Rollers, unleashed a relentless attack. Modise Modipe opened the scoring in the 13th minute, setting the tone for the encounter. The home crowd, packed into the old stadium, erupted, their celebration only intensifying as Tafic continued to find the back of the net. Just before halftime, Kazadi Gautheir doubled the lead in the 45th minute. Barely ten seconds later, Jean Mwamba, a regular scorer for Tafic, added a third with a perfectly executed shot. The second half saw no let-up in Tafic's dominance. Theo Shadikong joined the goal-scoring spree, netting the fourth after a precise cross from the wing and the fifth, a thunderbolt outside the box. Modipe then completed his brace in the 61st minute, securing a resounding victory for Tafic of 6-0. Despite continued pressure and numerous chances, Tafic's final goal remained elusive. Union Flamengo Santos' injury first goalkeeper, Matshwenyego Keobonye's woes further hampered their already futile efforts, as a substitution failed to change the course of the game. Tafic controlled possession throughout, leaving no doubt as to the deserved winner. In a post game interview, Tafic FC coach Elias Chinyemba stated that those unfamiliar with his team's current approach should reassess their perceptions. Conversely, Union Flamengo Santos coach Thaloba Ntthaga expressed confidence that his team will improve, despite the current match result, and suggested that their performance will be stronger in the upcoming season. The 6-0 victory cemented Tafic's position at the top of the FNB Premiership League table. EndsSource : BOPA
