Nyatanga visits and donates to accident victims

Assistant Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr Augustine Nyatanga on Monday visited Kudumatse to provide support to survivors of an accident that occurred in the area early December.
He also donated food hampers to the accident victims.
Mr Nyatanga, who is also the area MP, said he was informed about an accident that occurred along Kudumatse-Motsiake road involving a truck which carried 175 people to Motsiake Farm commonly known as Dikgatlhong farm.
He expressed relief that all the 175 people survived the accident and were recuperating well.
He said out of the 175 people involved in the accident, 156 were admitted to health facilities for medical attention, and 155 of them were treated and discharged while one was still under doctors' observation at Mahalapye Hospital.
Mr Nyatanga said investigations into the incident were continuing so as to ascertain and guide appropriate action to be taken as well as to provide aid for the affected people.
He said the government was duty bound to ensure that labour laws were not flouted while on the other hand employers were obligated to implement labour laws and as such under no circumstances should human rights be flouted.
Minister Nyatanga expressed gratitude to the medical personnel who assisted accident victims accordingly to ensure that their lives were safeguarded .
On other issues, he encouraged residents to take advantage of the rains to plough to boost food security in the country.
He said the UDC-led government was indebted to Batswana and would ensure that the citizens received timely service and closer to them to enhance the quality of life.
