East Hanahai children celebrates Christmas

As it is a common norm across Christian denominations to converge at their sacred places to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, Dutch Reformed church in East Hanahai, hosted a Christmas service for the children. In an interview, East Hanahai Reformed church elder, Mr Dabe Sakarea said they converged at the church last night where they shared the gospel with congregants regarding the birth of Jesus Christ. He said in their teachings they reflected on the significance of Jesus birth and preached about the messages of love and salvation. He therefore, implored communities to embrace the word of God and repent to receive forgiveness for their abominations and grow spiritually. For her part, one of the Reformed Church Missionaries, Ms Coby Visser said she and her husband, Mr had been residing in Botswana for almost 33 years. She said they were on a mission to join hands with Bible translations activists to produce scriptures using Naro language and other different ethnic languages for easy comprehension of the word of God. She said the translation of the new testament to Naro or any ethnic language would allow different ethnic groups to absorb the word of God effectively and even increase participation in promoting it impartially. On other issues, she said they encouraged the spirit of kindness amongst communities. Her family, she said pledged to share a meal with the elderly and children on Christmas Day. EndsSource : BOPA
