Tonota police have confirmed that they had retrieved two bodies of people who were swept away while trying to cross Tholotsane River in Tonota this morning.The two are females. According to Assistant Suprident Abel Matlhabe of Tonota Police Station, they received a report between 5am and 530am that some people who had attended a festival had been swept away by the river. He said the police team, who went to the scene found eye witnesses who told them that three people were swept by the river. He said the police were still searching for the other person. So far, he noted that the bodies had not been identified adding that they had not yet received a report of missing persons. Therefore, Assistant Supritendent Matlhape appealed to the public to help them in identifying the deceased. He also encouraged the public to be vigilant during the rainy season. Ends
