Peermont Botswana Donates P100 000 to Uplift Communities
22 Dec 2024
Peermont Botswana has donated P100 000 to support various charitable organisations and individuals.
The donation, announced on December 20, reflects the company's dedication to driving change across three key sectors: community development, entrepreneurship, and education.
At a handover ceremony, Peermont Global Botswana Manager, Ms Malebogo Motlaleng highlighted the impactful stories behind the donations. Of the donated amount, P15 000 was allocated towards Ms Goaba Kgasa's candle-making business, Zoe's Natural Body Shop.
This support, which includes essential materials and mentorship from Naga Earth, aims to empower Ms Kgasa's entrepreneurial aspirations following her public appeal for assistance.
Another beneficiary, Botswana Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Centre received P30 000 to continue its critical work of providing a safe space for victims of gender-based violence. Noting the increase of GBV cases, Ms Motlaleng emphasised the importance of the centre as a refuge for those affected.
Another P30 000 was donated to the Botswana Society for the Deaf (BSD) to assist with operational costs for its educational facilities, the Ramotswa and Francistown Centres for Deaf Education. This contribution would enable the BSD to sustain its long-standing commitment to supporting individuals with hearing impairment.
Lastly, P25 000 was directed to Dyslexia and Social Support Services Botswana, helping to cover office rental expenses, ensuring the organisation can effectively support individuals facing learning difficulties.
"Our belief in impactful partnerships drives our commitment to forging collaborations that foster sustainability and inclusiveness within our communities," Ms Motlaleng remarked.
As Peermont Botswana spreads holiday cheer, it also reinforces its role as a catalyst for positive change in society, she said. ENDS
