Chiefs win Kgatleng derby

Mochudi Centre Chiefs claimed the bragging rights in Kgatleng derby by thrashing Matebele 4-0 in an FNB Premiership encounter on Friday.
Following a series of disappointing results in their last three FNB Premiership matches, Magosi got back to winning ways in impressive fashion in a match played at the BPSC Stadium in Gaborone.
Captain Thatayaone Ramatlapeng led from the front once again with a man of the match performance and scored for the third match in a row. The attacking dynamo opened the floodgates in the 43rd minute to have Chiefs in the lead at the interval.
Lobopo Moremi completed a beautiful team move 13 minutes into the second half, and Ramatlapeng completed his brace in the 68th minute to put Magosi in a commanding lead. Ramatlapeng provided a free-kick assist for Khumoetsile Kufigwa to put the final nail in the coffin of Matebele with a header.
The win propelled interim coach Seemo Mpatane's men to fourth position with 21 points from 12 matches. Matebele slipped from ninth to 10th place with 14 points from 12 matches following the heavy defeat.
In another FNB Premiership match yesterday, BDF XI played to a goalless draw with VTM at Lobatse Sports Complex, the result with saw VTM in position seven with 16 points. BDF on the other hand are hovering three points above the relegation zone with 12 points from 12 matches.
Meanwhile, the FNB Premiership continues today with log leaders TAFIC welcoming second placed Gaborone United at the Francistown City Council Stadium at 4pm. The two are separated by one point with TAFIC on 25 points while GU is on 24 points.
Township Rollers welcome Orapa United in a televised match at Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng at 4pm. Champions, Jwaneng Galaxy visit Sua Flamingoes at Sowa Town Council Stadium at 4pm.
