Mokolwe and Fikeng lands would be considered for budget under minimal land servicing during National Development Plan 12 (NDP 12). 

Minister of Water and Human Settlement, Mr Onneetse Ramogapi said in Parliament that the two were recently recognised as wards of Gabane and Mmankgodi during the middle of 2024/2025 financial year, He explained that for infrastructure to be developed in recently recognised settlements, government through land boards must first acquire ploughing fields in the area, plan the acquired land and build infrastructure such as roads and water pipelines in accordance with the approved layouts. 

In the interim, he said, residents of the two settlements were issued with tokens to access potable water in prepaid public standpipes from their parent villages.

 Mr Ramogapi was answering questions from Gabane-Mmankgodi MP, Mr Kagiso Mmusi, who had asked the ministry when standpipes at Mokolwe and Fikeng wouldbe installed since the ungazetted settlements would now be recognised as was approved by government in October 2024. Ends
