Dikgatlhong Dam on moderate drought status

Dikgatlhong Dam, which is the largest in the country, is currently at 66 per cent, this gives the dam a moderate drought status.
Giving an update on the dam status during a visit by President Advocate Duma Boko on Saturday, WUC chief executive officer, Mr Gaselemogwe Senai said the water could last for 24 months in the instance that it did not rain.
Located near Robelela in the eastern part of the country, when full, Dikgatlhong Dam holds 400 million cubic meters of water.
Mr Senai said last year this time, the dam was at 85 per cent.
He also highlited that the last time the dam experienced the lowest level was in 2013 due to drought when it had dropped to 40 per cent.
Meanwhile, the WUC CEO decried vandalism of infrastructure at the dam. Ends
