Men Sector cries for developments in Mosokotsho

Molepolole East men have embarked on a journey to be exemplary in their communities.

Recently, the men celebrated the International Men’s Day under the theme ‘Positive Male Role Models’ and true to their word, they aimed at positively impacting the lives of people of Mosokotso where the event was held.

The Chairman of the Men Sector, Mr Simon Mogale said during the ceremony that residents living in the area faced lack of facilities and resources.

“Mosokotso is one location where developments are so limited. People in this area live the despair of lacking facilities and resources. They do not have access to health services, there is no school to the extent that children have to walk about five kilometres or more to and from Molepolole on a daily basis. This comes up with constant lateness and fatigue amongst the learners at school,” said Mr Mogale.

Mr Mogale, said they have taken advantage of the day to display men’s role in playing a vital role in enhancing developments for their communities.

Amongst the amenities they introduced was the bowsing of water, a scarce commodity in the village and during the day, people queued near the bowsers expressing their joy.

“We have arranged with the Ministry of Youth and Gender to truck water to the people of Mosokotsho, Mmohung, Lephaleng, Ga-Ntshonyana, Katswane, Dithejwane just to mention a few.

“Upon arrival we announced through the loudspeakers calling people to come and fetch water at their kgotla. To my surprise these people said they are so shocked for this is history in the making for it was their first time ever in their lifetime drinking borehole water for free,” said Mogale.

He critisised men for refraining from expressing their worries and urged them to get out of the box and voice out their emotions.

“Men are fuming with suppressed emotions. I want to advise them to visit several sectors where men could go and express their emotions. Our Men Sector is working hand in hand with the police, the MPs, counsellors, VDCs and churches striving to mobilise men on voicing out their clampdowns,” he said.

Mr Mogale said he is optimistic that the new government would promote men’s welfare. Ends
