The number of plots which have been targeted for allocation in Molepolole North constituency is 1 908 residential and 134 business plots located in Suping Ward.

Responding to a question in Parliament, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Dr Micus Chimbombi said a further 395 plots were allocated at Mogonono.

Dr Chimbombi said the layouts had been surveyed and currently at examination stage.

The plots are anticipated to be allocated during the fourth quarter of the 2024/25 financial year after approval of general plans, Dr Chimbombi said and further noted that the allocation of business plots would be through a competitive tendering process which was also expected to commence in the last quarter of 2024/25.

He said the waiting list currently stood at 16 384 and covered Molepolole North and South constituencies, to be addressed through acquisition of land as guided by Molepolole Development Plan.

Molepolole North Member of Parliament, Mr Arafat Khan, had asked the minister to state progress in the allocation of residence and commercial plots in Molepolole North, the waiting list and expected time frame in addressing the matter. Ends
