01 Dec 2024
Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs is currently undertaking an assessment in collaboration with stakeholders with a view to determine if it is still prudent to apply restrictions to five South African nationals who are under visa restrictions to visit Botswana for political reasons.
Minister of Labour and Home Affairs, Major General Pius Mokgware said this on Wednesday during the ongoing parliament meeting.
He told members that visa restrictions were normally imposed to monitor movement into the country for various reasons.
Member of Parliament for Molepolole North, Mr Arafat Khan had wanted an update on the number of people from the neighboring South Africa who were under visa restrictions to visit Botswana.
He also wanted to know if there were any plans to revoke such restrictions in the foreseeable future. BOPA
