Investing in people to build a more equitable future can improve skills.

This was said by Thebephatswa Air Base Commander, Brigadier Collen Maruping during the Thebephatswa Airbase Expo 2024 gala dinner on Friday.

Brigadier Maruping said investment helped lay the foundation to build individual resilience and pathways towards their empowerment.

He also underscored that building legacies and investing in the lives of people through different forums was a step in ensuring that they are exposed to different stages of life.

“We have gained knowledge therefore, we promise to apply it to uplift ourselves and contribute to our nation’s growth,” said Brigadier Maruping.

He commended various stakeholders for supporting Thebephatswa Airbase Expo, noting that their commitment had been invaluable.

“Your provision of goods and services has greatly enhanced the quality and experience of this expo,” said Brigadier Maruping.

Moreover, he said the expo was designed to facilitate exchange of knowledge and skills across diverse fields with tools to thrive in an ever evolving world.

He said the expo was crucial for the continued development  of Botswana Defence Force employees thus urged the military personnel to take advantage of the opportunities it presented, to serve them well in their post military life.

Thebephatswa Airbase Expo 2024 chairperson, Major Thuto Victor thanked sponsors and stakeholders for their efforts in making the event a success.

“We had a great team of passionate individuals who were committed in making the event unforgettable”, he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the community, exhibitors and everyone who partook and graced the event.

“Your presence made a difference and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome you again in future,” said Major Victor. Ends
