Radisele-Pilikwe road construction due to commence
21 Nov 2024
Construction of the 21km Radisele-Pilikwe road that was procured through a conventional method is due to commence this month.
Answering a question in Parliament on Wednesday, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr Noah Salakae said the works contract for the project was awarded to CDK at the sum of almost P200 million on October 4.
He further noted that the project was expected to take 18 months up to May 2026.
Minister Salakae said during tendering, the contractor was taken on a compulsory site visit on July 12, which ended at Pilikwe Kgotla and it was at that time that the leadership was informed of the ministry’s intention to construct the road.
Member of Parliament for Tswapong South, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang had asked the minister to apprise the House on the construction of Radisele-Pilikwe Road and whether he was aware of the recent visit by the Development Manager to assure the leadership of Pilikwe about the decision to begin construction of the road.
