A women’s group, Bomme ba Bakwena has donated 972 chairs to the Molepolole main kgotla on Tuesday.

This follows an incident in which the shelter caught fire, burning down everything during some protests last year.

The wards and churches in the village resolved to assist by buying new chairs for the kgotla through an initiative spearheaded by Bomme ba Bakwena.

Paramount Chief of Bakwena, Kgosi Kgari Sechele III, appreciated the gesture and stated that the main kgotla was regaining its pride after last year’s arson.

He disclosed that plans were afoot to build a new and bigger kgotla shelter.

Bakwena Deputy Paramount Chief, Kgosi Lawrence Mhaladi said the gesture showed unity and advised the community to respect the kgotla.

He implored parents to teach the youth the right way of protesting.

Ms Rebecca Gaelafshwe promised that more chairs would be donated. Ends
