Masisi Promises Smooth Transition

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has promised a seamless transition to the incoming administration following Botswana Democratic Party loss in the October 30 general elections.
Briefing the press this morning, Dr Masisi assured the nation that he would not disturb the transition.
Also, congratulated the president elect adding that, “I will hand over all outstanding government matters to the new president,’ affirming his commitment to supporting the nation’s democratic process.
He acknowledged the loss his party faced and emphasised the importance of respect for the people’s will..
Meanwhile, defending his tenure as he prepares to step aside, he said, ‘My hands are clean. If anyone thinks I did anything wrong, take me to court.’
Dr Masisi said the public service should remain apolitical and encouraged civil servants to get ready for the new administration.
As he looks forward to attending the inauguration, Masisi concluded with a promise to continue serving Botswana's interests within constitutional limits, aiming to build a nation where opportunities abound for all citizens. Ends
