29 Oct 2024

Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) leader, Advocate Duma Boko has appealed to constituents in Charleshill to vote for his party’s parliamentary and council candidates during the October 30 general elections.

Adv. Boko said this when launching parliamentary candidate, Mr Motsamai Motsamai and council candidates in Charleshill recently.

He encouraged constituents to vote in favour of Mr Motsamai as he was amongst those who had shown an outstanding performance throughout his five-year tenure in Parliament.

Adv. Boko said Mr Motsamai was vocal on socio-economic issues affecting communities in remote areas.

He also applauded him for going an extra mile by even advocating for other economically disadvantaged communities from neighbouring districts.

He further encouraged constituents to rally behind his party as he said they had better social upliftment packages that would transform their livelihoods for the better.

He mentioned programmes like the P4 000 living wage and P1 800 old age pension that he said would take Batswana out of abject poverty.

If voted into power, he said UDC would implement the national school-feeding programme that would ensure that students were fed with two balanced meals during school times.

Adv. Boko said the meals would assist in the development of the students for them to perform better in their academics and help curb delinquency acts among students.

Also, he said UDC would set up a meat regulatory body that would ensure that cattle farmers would get good profits after selling their cattle to different markets.

In his speech, Mr Motsamai said he was committed to representing his constituency for the next term, so that he could continue with his bold advocacy for developments in their area.

He implored voters to vote for him and his councillors so that they would speak with one voice at local level and Parliamentary level by implementing the party’s manifesto to transform lives. ENDS
