Mmusi launches Delta Automotive Technologies

The coming in of Delta Automotive technologies signifies a new chapter in the country’s mission towards economic diversification, industrial advancement and job creation.
The company manufactures and supplies vehicle wiring harnesses for leading brands such as Nissan and Volkswagen
Speaking during the official opening of the company, Wednesday in Lobatse, Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mmusi Kgafela said the milestone signified a new chapter in Botswana’s drive for economic diversification.
The establishment of Delta is also a sign that the country is ready to integrate in one of the fastest growing sectors in the world that will provide economic benefits for Batswana, said Minister Mmusi and added that the milestone aligned with Botswana’s Reset Agenda, which sought to drive economic transformation through diversification and innovation.
He said the company therefore, was as a perfect example of such transformation, contributing to the diversification of the economy while providing valuable export potential.
Mr Kgafela went on to say that the benefits of such ventures were not only limited to job creation but also stimulated the value chains and exploitation of adjacent economic opportunities.
Minister Kgafela applauded Botswana development Corporation (BDC) for playing a critical role in driving industrialisation and supporting private sector. BDC managing director, Mr Cross Kgosidiile said the day marked a milestone for the country’s industrialisation journey.
Mr Kgosidiile said it was a testament to the unwavering commitment and a chapter that marked Botswana’s symbol of empowerment and economic promotion. The workforce of Delta Automotive Technologies, which stands at approximately 300, has locals in the majority and most are women. ENDS
