Botswana Football Association (BFA) has roped in Jwaneng Galaxy coach, Morena Ramoreboli as the Zebras interim head coach.

Announcing the appointment in a media statement on Wednesday, BFA explained that Ramoreboli’s angagement was a contingency plan aimed at minimising distraction around the Zebras camp for the immediate future. 

BFA further pointed out that Ramoreboli would inherit the technical team left by Didier Da Rosa who recently resigned. 

“Ramoreboli and his technical team have a single minded focus of giving us the best possible chance of going to Morocco AFCON 2025. These are exciting times for Botswana football at senior level and we look forward to welcoming Mr Ramoreboli, “ the BFA said.

 Meanwhile, when quizzed by journalists about the Zebras coaching job following Galaxy’s hard fought 1-0 league victory over Township Rollers at the National Stadium on Tuesday night, Ramoreboli said, “This country has given me so much as a coach and why would I really be afraid to pay back the trust and the loyalty this country has on me. 

If you are being given the responsibility to lead the nation, you should sacrifice everything and try your best to make sure that you make the nation happy. 

It will depend on what the country wants, and it will also depend on what Jwaneng Galaxy wants because during this period, it is important that both parties agree on what is important for the country and for the club.” Ends
