Use Internet to improve quality of life - Segokgo

Minister of Communication, Knowledge and Technology has urged Molete residents to use internet to improve their quality of life.
Mr Thulagano Segokgo said this during a hand over ceremony of Molete satellite school, which was built at P3 million courtesy of Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).
The school has been installed with internet of which Mr Segokgo said the residents could access to enhance their knowledge. Also, he said the infrastructure at the school would help learners compete with their peers in urban areas.
He further urged parents to work with teachers to monitor usage of Internet by the learners. He further promised that he would ensure that poor signal would be addressed so that the residents could have access to local private radio stations.
This came after the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mr Eric Molale said his wish was to see the residents having access to radio stations.
For her part, Minister of Finance, Ms Peggy Serame encouraged the residents to take care of the facility so that they would be able to reap the benefits of the school. She thanked BOCRA forinvesting their profits back into the community.
BOCRA chief executive officer, Mr Martin Mokgware said they had so far hired 46 IT experts in schools in Good Hope District, connected Internet in all clinics, schools and kgotlas.
The school will accommodate reception class up to Standard Three. ENDS
