BDP aims for clean sweep

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) has its eyes set on winning all 61 parliamentary seats in the upcoming general elections scheduled for October 30.
Soliciting for votes for the party’s parliamentary candidate for Nkange constituency on Sunday in Tutume, Vice President Slumber Tsogwane said unlike opposition parties which were targeting lesser seats, the BDP was targeting all 61 constituencies, to continue leading Batswana to prosperity.
He said through BDP’s capable leadership, the country realised developments and a change in livelihoods.
Mr Tsogwane, who is also BDP chairperson said under the BDP administration, Batswana had access to empowerment programmes such as Chema Chema whose aim was to encourage self-reliance as well as economic growth and transformation.
He urged the electorate to bring back the constituency into the BDP fold. Furthermore, Mr Tsogwane commended democrats who lost in the Bulela Ditswe primary elections but continued to support those who won and work to ensure the party emerged victorious in the elections.
“I commend you for taking part and respecting democracy,” he said
Former MP, Mr Edwin Batshu stated that BDP was the party of choice, with a noteworthy track record.
Mr Batshu said voting for the party would ensure more developments for the constituency.
Meanwhile, Member of Central Committee, Ms Angelina Sengalo appreciated support they were getting from party veterans whom she said were active in the campaign.
Mr Onkabetse Daniel the party’s parliamentary candidate, urged the electorate to vote for him and the 15 council hopefuls. ENDS
