Botswana’s Camila Seetso has utilised the home ground advantage and beat highly rated Cameroon tennis player, Terzia Belibi.

   She beat her 6-3, 6-3 in the ITF/CAT 12 and Under Teams final competition today. In the first set, Seetso played well denying her opponent the chance to push back too much, in the event unleashing some attacks. She continued to dictate the tempo of the game, as she forced Teiza to commit more errors, and she was found wanting most of the time.

After the game, she admitted that she was playing with a tough opponent, who managed to read her moves as she forced her to make so many errors. Seetso, on the other hand, said she was happy with the way she played and executed their game plan.

“She is a good player, and I cannot take anything away from her, it is just that I wanted to win more,” she said.

National Team coach, Kelebogile Monnayoo, said Seetso was one player who follows the instructions and game plan.

“Camila managed to execute what we were working on in the morning and she executed well, and that is where we won the game,” she said

Furthermore, the coach said the opponent was good but her player was more consistent, while on the other hand, their opponent was taking a lot of risks that did not work for her.

“For us, we took the risk where we had to, and I am also impressed by her serves today, she was on her element,” she said.

In other matches, South African Gabby Coetzee won 6-0, 6-0 against Ainameva Ramanampanohaina of Madagascar. 

Kenyan Ouka Paula won 6-0, 6-2 against Tunisia Srihi Lina, while Bayaka Moiukitau overcame Camara Fatoumatu 6-1, 6-0.
