07 Oct 2024

Voters in Kgatleng East Constituency have been implored to give Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) parliamentary hopeful, Mr Mabuse Pule another chance to represent them at the National Assembly. Launching BDP parliament and council candidates for Kgatleng East in Oodi on October 5, BDP member, Mr Lotty Manyepedza said re-election of Mr Pule would ensure continuity and improved livelihoods. He said voters should not trust any party to run the government.

Mr Manyepedza said since the economy was still reeling from economic shocks perpetuated by drought, COVID-19 and wars around the globe, it would be futile to change government.

He said BDP had a good track record and the party had never failed to deliver on its promises in the last 58 years it ruled. The BDP firebrand said there was no certainty in voting for a change because opposition parties were amateurs that had failed to form a united opposition.

Entrusting your votes with opposition will lead you astray,” he said. Mr Manyepedza encouraged voters to utilise programmes availed by government to fight unemployment. While acknowledging that some of the planned development projects could not be implemented, he said, there were signs of improvement, owing to recent groundbreaking of development projects across the country.

Member of Central Committee, Ms Leungo Tlhoolebe implored voters to embrace the Impact Accelerator Subsidy under agriculture to improve their lives. She said uptake of different government programmes would assist to overcome unemployment. BDP veterans, Mr Mpho Koboyatshwene and Ms Sediko Meswele attested that the transformative developmental journey of the constituency was due to the visionary leadership of BDP.

The duo said the developments in the constituency warranted re-election of Mr Pule, as well as BDP councillors, citing the construction of the new Oodi Primary School, the Modipane-Mabalane road and other development that took place during the last the five years.

For his part, Mr Pule thanked attendants and fellow party members for the support. He urged them to vote for him as he had delivered various projects that had stalled for the longest time. I am here to ask you to rally behind me and my councillors. I have footprint that speak for me. I promise you, there is no alternative” he said. Attendants were also encouraged to turn out for voting in large numbers on October 30. ENDS
